Google announced that the updated CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) metric is available in the Search Console report effective June 1.

With the updated metric, most sites will be able to see improved CLS scores in the main Web Vitals report in Google Search Console without making any changes.

Recall in April Google updated the calculation method the CLS metric, which is part of Core Web Vitals. If earlier it was the sum of all individual layout offsets during the metric recording time, now the session will be split into “windows” of offsets, and the maximum window estimate will be the CLS estimate as a whole.
