Simply Business, one of the UK’s largest digital insurance brokers for small businesses, has announced a partnership with Churchill Insurance, a leading UK insurer, to give SME shop customers enhanced choice. This sees Simply Business expand its existing partnership with the insurer, with Churchill quoting customers across Business, Landlord and now Shop panels.

The partnership with Churchill will result in greater choice for SMEs operating across the UK. This collaboration combines the brand strength and credibility of Churchill with the digital capabilities and accessible marketplace of Simply Business, which is one of the largest insurance providers in the UK with over 800,000 small business and landlord customers.

The SME shop product will offer SMEs access to a wider choice for their insurance needs, as they continue their post-pandemic recovery and demand increases for this cover. Over the past 12 months Simply Business has seen a 59 per cent increase in demand for new online shop policies, there was a 42 per cent increase in shop and retail and a 21 per cent rise in new business high street policies. The new product suite will join an existing range of insurance offerings provided by Churchill live on the Simply Business platform, including Business and Residential Landlord.

“Owning a shop is about so much more than premises and operations, they’re built by hard working people. Together with Churchill we’re working to make sure there are fewer worries by offering them greater choice for their insurance needs. Our data shows there is a growing demand for shop insurance from SMEs across the country and it’s important we can support these businesses knowing that they will be crucial to our collective recovery.
