The central government banned domestic and international flights on 23 March last year in view of the Kovid-19 transition.
- Vande Bharat Mission and Travel Bubble flights will not be banned.
- Airlines will not be able to increase the fares of domestic flights till 31 May
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has extended the ban on scheduled international flights to 31 May 2021. The ban has been extended in view of the increasing number of Kovid-19 cases in the country. The DGCA has given this information through notifications.
There will be no restriction on cargo flights
The notification states that this restriction will not apply to all international cargo flights and flights permitted by the DGCA. That is, cargo and other permitted flights will continue as before. Apart from this, all scheduled flights with Vande Bharat Mission and travel bubble will continue to fly as before. However, flights may be allowed on some international routes after approval of the agencies concerned.
There is a ban on flights from 23 March
The central government banned domestic and international flights on 23 March last year in view of the Kovid-19 transition. Domestic flights had resumed from 25 May. But international flights continue to be banned. However, the government is carrying out special operations under the Vande Bharat Mission to bring back the stranded Indians abroad. Apart from this, international flights are also running under bio bubble.
Fare for domestic flights will not be increased till 31 May
The Ministry of Civil Aviation has banned the increase in fares on domestic flights till 31 May. Flight fares have been banned since last year due to Corona. Earlier a similar order was issued in February. In addition to the fare, the flight has to operate with 80% capacity. Aviation companies had on Sunday appealed to the ministry to reduce the capacity to 60% as the bookings have come down significantly in April.
Domestic operation opens from May 25 after lockdown
Scheduled domestic operation was halted from 25 March 2020 after Corona began. From 25 May it began to open slowly, with some conditions and one-third the capacity of pre-covid levels. Minimum and maximum limits were imposed on air fares, so that airlines do not charge too much and air travel is only for essential purposes. On 3 December 2020, flight capacity was increased to 80% of the pre-Kovid level. Earlier it was 70%.
The number of passengers may decrease in April
According to rating agency Icra, the growth of air passenger traffic is expected to decline by 15 to 17% in April. Since May 2020, domestic passenger traffic reached 64% in February. On an average, 2.49 lakh passengers travel by flight in March 2021. During April 6 to April 11, it declined abruptly by 12% compared to March. According to the data, on April 13, for the first time in nearly 5 months, the number of passengers reached below 1 lakh 83 thousand 331.
For the first time, 3.86 lakh new patients were found in one day.
For the first time, 3 lakh 86 thousand 854 new patients were confirmed on Thursday. This is the largest number of new patients found in 24 hours. Earlier, on April 28, 3.79 lakh patients were identified. Apart from this, 3,501 infected people also died in 24 hours. This was the third consecutive day when more than three thousand people have died. Earlier on Wednesday, 3,646 deaths were recorded. It is a matter of relief that within these 24 hours, 2 lakh 91 thousand 484 people recovered and went to their home too.
