The other day John Mueller from Google asked an unusual question:

It is believed that adding punctuation marks after a link is bad for SEO. Is it true? Some of the sites that host guest posts even include this clause in guidelines.

John Mueller answered this in Twitter:

No, we don’t pay much attention to punctuation after the link. I have not heard punctuation marks next to links ever impact crawling, indexing, or ranking on any search engine.
